Shennan Li

Portrait of Noorify Counsellor offering CBT

Shennan Li is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a practice grounded in cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and relational integrity. Her work is shaped by her extensive experience in immigrant and refugee community settings, where she has supported youth, families, and adults navigating trauma, displacement, intergenerational conflict, and cultural transition.

Through her work in these diverse and often underserved communities, Shennan has developed a counselling approach that prioritizes deep listening, emotional safety, and respect for each individual’s unique context. She understands that healing does not always begin with language, and that presence, pacing, and attunement are vital in building meaningful therapeutic relationships.

Shennan’s clinical work draws from narrative therapy, somatic-based practices, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and attachment theory. She tailors her approach to meet each client where they are, developmentally, emotionally, and culturally, with a focus on restoring connection and fostering resilience. Her practice particularly welcomes BIPOC and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, and those living with the complexities of migration and identity reconstruction.

Shennan believes that therapy is not about pathologizing distress but about creating collaborative space for individuals to reclaim their stories, integrate their experiences, and move toward greater internal coherence. She offers services in both English and Mandarin and is committed to holding space for clients who may still be in the process of finding their voice.

“I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and my work is rooted in cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and genuine connection. My passion for counselling grew from years of supporting youth, families, and adults in immigrant and refugee communities, helping them navigate trauma, displacement, cultural transitions, and the challenges that come with change. I believe healing begins with feeling truly seen and safe, so I take time to listen deeply, move at your pace, and honour your unique story. Drawing from narrative therapy, somatic approaches, CBT, and attachment theory, I tailor each session to meet you where you are — emotionally, developmentally, and culturally. I especially welcome BIPOC and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, and those exploring migration, identity, and belonging. Whether we meet in English or Mandarin, my goal is to walk alongside you as you reclaim your voice, strengthen your resilience, and move toward the life you want.”
